filipinos love fairytales

i watched a filipino romantic movie (you changed my life, a sequel to a very special love...yes we're creative) and even though i know how it's going to end, even though i know how corny it is, even though i know how unrealistic they seem, even though it will leave me giddy for one day and crappy the next, i still love them :].

all of them are the same. except for one or two, but those one or two are the same thing haha.

so here's the storyline of most filipino movies:

boy girl meet somehow. most times it's a forbidden love or just by chance or childhood friend or something of the sort. they slowly start to fall in love. then usually at the end of the movie they admit they love each other and sometimes they even change the lives of each other for the better. there's usually a complication that screws things up a little, but unlike american love stories or other asian dramas, filipinos like to stick to what they created cuz us filipinos love that stuff. so in the end, they magically work things out and there's usually an epilogue of some sort.

now the exceptions are that one of the main characters die. now if it's a romantic comedy, that's not going to happen. it usually happens in dramas. duh. haha. i think it makes a pretty good movie. there's one called the promise that's sort of like the notebook but more complicated and in the end the girl dies. but that's what made it a really good movie to me even though i was pissed off she died. where's my happily ever after D;?!

another thing with filipino romantic movies: there's ALWAYS a theme song and you bet that the movie title is the song's title. if not, they'll MAKE a song.

forevermore
a very special love
you changed my life
the promise
i will always love you
till there was you

yea. haha. i might be obsessed with watching those movies. they're all so interesting! haha.
